The Wedding Ceremonies
💍 Nischitartham
The formal engagement — the lagna patrika is read, rings exchanged and the muhurtham fixed by the purohit.
🌼 Pellikuthuru & Pasupu
The bride and groom are bathed in fragrant pasupu (turmeric) and nalugu as womenfolk sing and bless them for a radiant glow.
🌂 Kashi Yatra & Mangala Snaanam
The playful ritual where the groom 'leaves for Kashi' with umbrella and stick, only to be lovingly stopped by the bride's brother.
🔆 Jeelakarra-Bellam Vivaham
At the sacred muhurtham, the couple places a paste of cumin and jaggery on each other's heads — an inseparable bond — followed by the tying of the mangalsutram.
🌾 Talambralu & Saptapadi
A joyous shower of pearls, turmeric-rice and flowers over each other, and the seven sacred steps around the holy agni.
🥂 Reception (Satyanarayana Vratam)
An evening of blessings, Andhra feasting and celebration as we welcome you into our new family.
How Two Hearts Became One
It began with a chance darshan queue at Tirumala — two families, one long wait, and endless laughter over filter coffee at the foothills. From late-night calls debating the best pulihora in town to road-trips along the Godavari, our bond grew as warm and golden as turmeric itself. Today, with the blessings of Lord Venkateswara and our elders, we tie the mangalsutram and begin our forever — to the sound of the nadaswaram and a shower of talambralu.
