MuktaआणिSoham
“With the blessings of Shree Ganesh and the love of our families, we warmly invite you to share in the joy as we take our seven vows together.”
The engagement — the families exchange sakhar (sugar) and a saree, and the wedding date is fixed with sweets all round.
The turmeric ceremony — haldi from the same vessel is applied to both Mukta and Soham as the suvasinis sing traditional songs.
The eve-of-wedding welcome where the bride's family honours the groom's family and the mandap is consecrated.
On the wedding morning the bride worships Goddess Gauri (Parvati) for a blessed married life before the muhurat.
At the sacred muhurat the antarpat is lowered to the Mangalashtak, guests shower akshata, and the couple takes the saptapadi and gathbandhan to become one.
An evening of dhol-tasha, lavani, fine Maharashtrian dining and celebration as we welcome you into our new family.
It began with a shared plate of misal pav at a tiny Pune amruttulya, two strangers arguing over who makes the better puran poli. From sunrise treks up Sinhagad to monsoon long-drives on the Mulshi ghats, our friendship turned into something as rich and woven as a Paithani. Today, with the blessings of Bappa and our families, we tie the gathbandhan and begin our forever — to the beat of the dhol-tasha and a shower of akshata.
